IT HAD TO HAPPEN EVENTUALLY

I finally broke down and brought up the booster seat from the basement.
Riggs has been eating 'solid' food for a while
but I would just prop him up in his car seat to eat.
Today, he decided he was done eating like a baby.
Here he is...thinking he is hot stuff.
Sisters are never too far away...what a lucky brother!
(just keep telling yourself that, Riggs)
WHAT A LUCKY MAMA!

MY HILLBILLY GIRL

Seriously...fall out already!
There it goes....tooth #5

Alex is making sure all of her teeth are tight and straight

IT HAPPENED....

a week ago, but it still happened.
I'm officially a mother of a kindergartner!
WHAT????
AUGUST 18th
The first day of school.
It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words.
Well, if this 'picture' doesn't convey the 'words' around our house,
I just don't know what would.

Brooklyn outside of her school.
SO EXCITED!
(wrong backpack)

Here is her backpack.
She insisted we go back to Iowa City to get it!
Can you say brainwashed? GO HAWKS!

First day of school is a lot more fun
being in the same class with a special friend!

STILL CELEBRATING TURNING 6

When we returned from Minnesota,
there was a package waiting for Brooklyn (Alex and Riggs too)
from Pop and Grandma Abblitt
Fun, fun, fun!

YODER REUNION - SUNDAY

Before everyone headed home,
there was a church service held in Deb & Doyle's garage.
We are the church....not the building.
Our God wants His people to worship him...no matter where we are!

Grandpa Yoder gave the message.
He spoke about not being on the sidelines of life.
His and Grandma's goal is to share in others' lives...
part of that is being involved in Hospice Work
and the meaning that has for them.
He wants his family to be active participants in spreading God's love.
It was quite inspiring!

It is so sweet to see Scott's grandparents together.
Grandpa is so gentle, kind and loving
in the words he shares about Grandma and their life together.

Time for some kid songs...

Praying for Uncle Delmar and Aunt Tammy
and their missions trip to Argentina.

HEADING BACK TO IOWA
Two VERY unhappy little girls!

"How long is this ride gonna be?"

Thank you to the Staples crew for organizing the
2010 Yoder Reunion.
What a blast!!!

YODER REUNION - SATURDAY

Saturday was such a fun-filled day...there was food, art projects, food, more bounce house bouncing, food, the 'Yoder Reunion Games', food, puppy chasing, family pictures, more food and it all was wrapped up with a birthday DQ ice cream cake.
Can everyday be like this?
Grandpa and Grandma Yoder

Scott's cousin Staci
She looks more like Brooklyn's mom than I do...

can you see the incredible resemblance?

YODER COUSINS EVERY WHERE YOU LOOK

Ummmm....lets just say this is their 'practice dog'
Its only a matter of time!

Alex LOVED little Holly!

And, did I mention there was food?

More fun for the kiddos

Meeting of the minds...
getting organized for the Yoder Reunion Games
Nick and Staci were the 'Games Committee'

The Games: Volleyball, Timed Child Puzzle (put together by adults), Horseshoes,
Tug-o-war, Obstacle Course and Water War.
It ended up being too cold for the water war. Maybe next time?

There was more than just bragging rights on the line....

KID'S TUG-O-WAR
Riggs wanted to go help his sisters...maybe next year, buddy!

THE MEN'S TUG-O-WAR
Scott and Brett getting a strategy together
Ready....
Go!

I gotta say...after watching the guys, I was almost glad not to be up for that kind of physical activity yet. But, then my competitive spirit got the better of me and I was kinda bummed.
However, when the collapsing of bodies began...I was once again glad.
WOMEN'S TUG-O-WAR

THE OBSTACLE COURSE

FINAL TALLY OF POINTS
King Pins won....yes, that was my team!

FAMILY PICTURES
Staci had a family friend take the big group shots.
Then the cousins decided they needed a different location for their pictures.
Really, its not a Minnesota Yoder Party until somebody is on a roof!

Brookly did NOT like her Daddy climbing up there...
