START OF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON

The '2010 Yoder Christmas Tree'
was cut down and brought home this afternoon.
The girls were SO excited to get all the ornaments ready...

and on the tree.

Brooklyn focused on getting the tree decorated...

Alex and Riggs mostly wrestled.

OUR THREE

BATTLE FOR THE REMOTE

How does it go???
Possession is 90% of the law.
Its a good thing Riggs seems to enjoy watching football & basketball
as much as his Daddy...because he sure is wanting control of the remote!

WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

IT HAS STARTED....OH NO!
Riggs is on the move. He has been kind of scooting around...mostly pivoting in the same spot. But, last night I put him down on his blanket next to his box of toys and walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water. What do I see on my way back?
Riggs heading to the kitchen.
Looking very proud of himself!

WALKING, TALKING, EATING, DRINKING

I can't say that I have ever been accused of being a 'deep thinking' person. Don't get me wrong...I am not a dumb person. I'm just not what one might call a typically 'deep' person. I am emotional. I am light-hearted (most of the time). I am fun-loving. I can take things very seriously OR not so seriously depending on the 'thing'. I love to search for information and learn new things. I have walls that can keep people (and God, at times) at a distance. However, there are times when I can get myself out of the way enough to allow God to have the 'deep' things sink in...and most of the time that ends with me in tears. Not because my head hurts (I know what some of you were thinking)...because most of the time the 'deep' things come back to the most basic thing. God loves me and is always with me!

This morning while reading from "My Utmost For His Highest", Oswald Chambers focuses on
I Corinthians 10:31, "Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
And then he says a couple things that are going to stick with me...
~ Beware of allowing yourself to think that the shallow aspects of life are not ordained by God; they are ordained by Him equally as much as the profound.
~To be shallow is not a sign of being sinful, nor is shallowness an indication that there is no depth to your life at all - the ocean has a shore. Even the shallow things of life, such as eating and drinking, walking and talking, are ordained by God. These are all things our Lord did. He did them as the Son of God, and He said, "A disciple is not above his teacher..." (Matthew10:24)

So, today I challenge you...when you are doing the 'shallow' things in life (walking, talking, eating and drinking)....do it all for the glory of God. See if from the shallow things God reveals the deep things.
Be Salt and Light!

IT'S HAPPENED...

After 3 weeks of fighting it...
I'm finally ready to admit that I am sick!
Once I got through the 90 minute wait at the doctor's office...found out that I have tonsillitis, sinusitis and my lungs are inflamed causing my asthma to act up. After being yelled at and told "you're killing me" 72 times by my doctor (because I have not been treating my asthma), I was sent home with a 'Medication List' of all my prescriptions to pick up at the pharmacy, told to get a Sinus Rinse (basically a bottle to shoot saline up my nose...oh, joy!?!?), given an "asthma check" to monitor my air flow for the next two weeks and another appointment to come back for asthma testing once I have finished all my meds.
Soooo, that was fun!
