My fellow Monday Night Bible Study gals are probably reading the title and scratching their head. Didn't we just study about the Medium of En Dor only a week ago?
Hello, short-term memory loss!
Do you not remember what happened to Saul?
Actually, this is talking about a sign from God specifically to you.
I had never thought about it before...
what is God's sign to me?
After some pondering, my sign comes when I'm enjoying God's creation and being quiet in nature. Specifically watching the sun rise or set. There are many times in my life where a beautiful sunrise or sunset has actually brought me to tears...feeling the arms of God give me a loving embrace.
Read the below borrowed post and then come back and leave God's sign to you in the comments. Lets see how many different ways God chooses to speak to His children.
I believe God often speaks to me through song. Especially when I am alone. I love that He uses music to quiet my heart and force me to concentrate on His truths. Or to look around me and focus on the beauty that He created for me.
ReplyDeleteI often find myself crying while in the car driving and listening to His music!
Thanks Mandy!
Mandy I have been thinking about this all afternoon and I am going with nature. I am sort of cheating because I can't seem to pick just one aspect of it. I totally agree with you about the sunrises and sunsets. Many times I have been brought to tears by them. Often when I am out running by myself in the early hours of the morning. I also find it in the wind. I find it when I am out gardening or planting. I find it in all the little critters that roam our acreage. A lot of it has to do with my Mom and I so much feel her presence through nature. I know God uses it to get my attention. I drop my guard, open my heart and let myself just feel His majesty around me. So if you ever see me crying in my garden, or tearing up over a squirel....don't call the nut house. It's just me getting my sign :)
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to go with...when someone has a baby. There is just something about birth. I cry almost anytime someone has a baby, even if I dont know them well. I guess just the thought that God made something so perfect and the new life is just amazing to me.
ReplyDeleteMy sign is definitely song. I love worshiping to music and am so encouraged as well as comforted by many of the lyrics........lately it's been old hymns! The most powerful for me though is when Bible passages are used. I'm am SO EXTREMELY thankful for music and that I have to ability to "hear" God through it.
ReplyDeleteSmiles. Definitely smiles.
